DON’T GET ME STARTED wonders how the Ravens are feeling as they await the arrival of the Ryan twins of the Bills. Of course, Rex had the best of his brother Rob, who was plucked to help the Bills defense after having a woeful record with the New Orleans Saints.
Of course, that defense needed work after Rex Ryan took the 4th rated defense in 2014 to #19 in his first year as head coach of the Bills. There’s no use going into the past history. This is a new season and until 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon, fans of both teams will be looking toward the future after experiencing either a win or loss in the Bills/Ravens opener.
One thing about Rex Ryan, he talks a lot. But, then again, Donald Trump also talks a lot and so do many other. Action is the key word for NFL teams. Fans will be taking sides as to whether the Ryan’s will be back for season 2017. The Bills will need to show what they have as a team. Most everyone expects the Bills to finish 8-8 on the season. To me that’s a very optimistic prediction. To me the Bills will be struggling to win 6 games.
General Manager Doug Whaley made some strange picks over the past 3 years in the draft only to see the Bills piling up one losing season after another and failing to make the playoffs going on to 20 years – a couple of decades. Failing to reach the playoffs this season might see Whaley and the Ryan’s looking for work elsewhere.
Unfortunately for Bills fans, I see the Ravens beating the Bills 24-17. First, it’s been known that Ryan and the offensive coordinator have been preaching that they will be a running team. They have some potent runners. The question is, will the offensive line finally show that they are going to be reckoned with this season? With the prediction that the Bills will run the ball – opposing defenses will be getting ready for McCoy & Co.
If the Bills are forced to go to the air, it will be interesting to see if Taylor will be throwing across the middle rather than relying on the sideline passes. Of course, Taylor has the capability to go deep and his legs should generate some chain moving.
Each Monday on allsportswny.com I’ll be posting my review of the previous day’s (night’) game. In my discussion with many fans, they can’t understand why I’m picking the Bills to have a losing season……again. First the schedule is against them; they play some high quality teams; 3 trips to the west coast; and 4 home games in the heart of winter.
And that’s not even penciling in the return of Tom Brady from his suspension. Same goes for a few of the Bills who won’t see any NFL action in the first 4 games on Don’t Get Me Started.
