The Western New York Thundersnow came up a bit short Saturday night in their road contest against the Rochester Ravens losing by the score of 135-126 in American Basketball Association action.
It was a frustrating loss for the Thundersnow, who have now dropped 4 of 5 after starting the season 4-0. The loss was also the team’s second straight road loss, the last one coming in Goshen New York to the Atlantic Coast Cardinals 127-118 on January 7th.
This game was marred by fouls, with 36 being assessed to WNY and just 14 to Rochester. One Thundersnow player Forward Anthony Greene was ejected during the game. Guard Isaiah Jefferson scored 37 points, and Guard Derek Cauley, 26 in the losing effort.
Guard Prince Knight had incredibly strong game defensively causing multiple turnovers, despite a rough first half in which he committed 4 fouls. Head Coach Donald Felice was critical of the officials, but also criticized his team for the poor defensive effort. He was encouraged by their fight towards the end however saying his players never gave up.
The Thundersnow return home to Niagara Catholic Sunday, Jan 29th and host the Steel City Yellowjackets at 4 PM. WNY will try and improve to 6-4. Ten games remain during the 2016/2017 regular season including four home, and six road contests. Adam Evans
