June 7, 2017 – The Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will honor special guest Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus on Tuesday, June 13 for “Marcell Dareus Day” at Coca-Cola Field as the Bisons host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Dareus will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, conduct an autograph signing for fans and meet Bisons players and coaches.

Additionally, the two-time Pro Bowler and 2014 first-team All-Pro, through his Dareus Foundation, will donate $2,500 to the Buffalo Bisons Charitable Foundation, which will make it possible for over 100 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo through United Way to attend the game, get a meal and meet the Bills’ superstar.

“I’m looking forward to my night at the ballpark and I thank the Buffalo Bisons for having me,” said Dareus. “But the best part is going to be hanging with the kids, some of whom have never seen a baseball game or been to the ballpark, and give them another life experience.”

Dareus will also sit in with the Voice of the Bisons Ben Wagner and Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer Duke McGuire (ESPN Radio 1520-AM) during the game and share his thoughts on the evening and the Bills’ bright hopes for the 2017 season.

“We’re very excited to have Marcell join us at Coca-Cola Field on June 13 to meet with our great fans. It’s a generous and tremendous gesture on Marcell’s part to provide so many worthy kids this opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled night at the ballpark,” said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons.

Dareus, who has played his entire six-year NFL career in Buffalo, and has always shown his commitment to supporting and engaging with the tight-knit community through his charitable efforts is thrilled to be doing it again.

Dareus continued, “My career wouldn’t be the same without all of the support I have received from the Buffalo community and it would be impossible for me to play without paying it forward. I love this community and am happy to help in the communities that need it the most. I love giving back to the kids and this is just another opportunity to do so.”

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the special night for Dareus, who will be signing autographs of an official Bills photograph (no outside memorabilia allowed or photographs to be taken) at the Coca-Cola Field main concourse immediately following the first pitch.

First pitch against the IronPigs is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. (Gates 6 p.m.).
