NCCC’s Donel Cathcart Nets 1,000 Career Points

Niagara County Community College men’s basketball sophomore Donel Cathcart surpassed 1,000 career points as the host Thunderwolves earned a 98-78 Region III victory over Mercyhurst North East this past weekend. Cathcart is the third player (Robby Seyler and Eli Jones) to achieve the milestone since head coach Bill Beilein took over the program in 2009.

Cathcart finished with 20 points and nine rebounds and netted the record-breaking bucket off an assist from classmate Laterrance Reed, who had 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds in the win. NCCC finished its regular season with a 20-9 overall record. It was 9-6 in the region.
