January 21, 2020 –The Buffalo Bisons today unveiled their preliminary 2020 Promotional Schedule with a lineup filled with fun events, great giveaways and plenty of fireworks that will ensure Sahlen Field is once again the home of the absolute best sports and family entertainment experience!
The countdown to the start of the 2020 season in downtown Buffalo has a special twist this year. For the first time since 2008, the Bisons home schedule opens under the lights with an Opening Night Honda fridaynightbash!® with fireworks on April 17 against the Rochester Red Wings.
To celebrate, the Bisons are holding a special ticket Flash Sale right on Bisons.com. Now through January 26, fans who purchase an Opening Night Ticket (or to any April home game), will receive 2 Free Sale Sahlen’s Hot Dogs.
A Honda fridaynightbash!® is the perfect start to a home schedule that includes 31 weekend dates (nearly half of their 70-game schedule) and 14 opportunities to watch the skies above Sahlen Field light up with fireworks. Included in that lineup are the team’s signature events, like Star Wars Night, presented by Alfred State College (June 6), the 26th Annual KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration with the BPO (July 3), Superhero Night (August 15) and Fan Appreciation Night on August 29. Other Honda fridaynightbash!® themes for the season include Disco Night (May 15), 80s Night (June 5), Ghostbusters Tribute Night (July 17) and Family Campout (July 31).
There are 10 giveaway dates on this year’s schedule, but none will be more sought-after than the Bo Bichette Bobbleheads handed out to the first 4,000 fans on July 11, presented by AXA Advisors. There will also be a Logo Baseball Giveaway so fans can Play Catch on the Field on Father’s Day (June 21), a Replica Jersey Giveaway on June 30, presented by Unifrax and pairs of Squints Glasses to be handed out on June 20 as actor Chauncey Leopardi from The Sandlot comes to the ballpark to celebrate Baseball Movie Night.
The Bisons will once again don the Blue and Gold for Hockey Night on August 1, presented by ADPRO and in collaboration with the Buffalo Sabres, as well as their powder blues for Blue Jays Day on July 12. Seinfeld Tribute Night returns on August 4 with actor Matt McCoy (Lloyd Braun on the show) signing autographs and the fan-favorite Mystery Ball Night to benefit the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame is on August 26.
Saturdays in 2020 will continue Labatt-urday Nights, where fans can enjoy food and beverage specials pre-game and the chance to win Beer for a Year during the night (starting June 20). This year’s Buster’s Kids Club Sundays with postgame kids run the bases will also include several great family-friend events, including Dick’s Sporting Goods Youth Baseball Day (June 7), Princess Day (July 19), a Charging Bank Giveaway (August 2) and Team Photo and Autograph Day (August 16).
A new daily promotion Win-It Wednesdays will give Bisons fans even more reason to cheer on the Herd. If the Bisons win on any Wednesday game, ticket stubs will be good for two-for-one tickets at the following Wednesday game. Start with the Bisons first Win-it Wednesday on April 22 and you could get as many as 55 free tickets by seasons end!
Of course, we love our pups, so the Bisons will feature SIX Dog Day events this season (April 18, May 2, June 4, July 28, August 10 and August 25). The popular Heritage Festival Night series also returns with Irish Night (June 16), Italian Night (July 16) and Polish Night (Aug. 11) and include special T-Shirt Giveaways on each occasion.
All Monday home games in 2020 will be ‘Markdown Mondays,’ with tickets just $9.00 when bought in advance of game day. The Bisons will also host Anderson’s Kids Week from April 18-22 where all kids tickets are also just $9.00
