DON’T GET ME STARTED probably gets Coach Ron Rolston more respect after he started Jhason Enroth in goal against the Tampa Lightning instead of Ryan Miller..

In the embarrassing loss to Montreal when he gave up 4 goals in 2 periods, Miller was replaced by Enroth for the third period.  The younger goalie then started Saturday against Philadelphia and responded with a shutout 1-0.

So what does Rolston do?  He does what most good coaches do.  Ride the winning hand.  Winning is all that matters and he went with the winner.  He gave the start to Enroth after the goalie played very well in the previous 4 games, going 3-0-1 and lowering his goals against average and save percentage.

Enroth played yet another strong game in leading the Sabres to a 3-1 victory over Tampa Bay.  The win moved Buffalo to within 4 points of the 8th place New York Rangers.  However, the Rangers have two games in hand on Buffalo as the Sabres have only 5 games remaining while New York has 7.

It’s almost evident that the Sabres play better with Enroth in the cage than with Miller.

Enroth stopped 32 of 33 shots he face, giving him 61 saves in the last 2 games while giving up only one goal.  There should be no question as to who plays the rest of the way.

Now, how will Miller feel?  Fans probably don’t give much of a hoot.  In fact, fans figure that Regier will trade Miller in the off-season since he acquired a goalie in the Pominville trade.  The way Enroth has performed; he most likely will claim the #1 goalie monicker.  He has earned it in the last 5 games.

The Sabres got on the board first at 4:00 when Tyler Ennis converted on a power play with a wrist shot that zipped by Mathieu Garon.

When Tampa got sloppy in the neutral zone, Jochen Hecht got the puck and skated into the Tampa zone with nobody around him.  When he reached the left circle he let go a shot that beat Garon with 12 minutes left in the second period, giving Buffalo a 2-0 lead.

Buffalo increased the lead to 3-0 when the kids who combined on the only goal against Philadelphia Saturday clicked again 37 seconds later as Kevin Porter pumped his 4th of the season on a tip in off a shot by Flynn.

A minute and a half later Tampa made it a one-goal game when Benoit Pouliot got his 8th of the season when he tipped in a shot by Brewer.    Lecavlier got an assist on the play.

That’s the way the game ended, 3-1.  And now fans will be waiting to see what Regier will do with Miller and the question will be whether Rolston will stay with the hot hand on Don’t Get Me Started.
