The Buffalo Sabres finished the 2013 NHL Draft by selecting ten players and trading away Defensemen Andre Sekera to the Carolina Hurricanes for Defensemen Jamie McBain and the 35th overall pick from the Hurricanes.
Also in the second round Buffalo drafted local product Center Justin Bailey. Bailey is the son of former Buffalo Bill Carlton Bailey but was raised by mother Karen Buscaglia after Justin’s parents divorced when he was younger. Justin also played for the Long Island Royals and lived with their coach and former Sabre Pat LaFontaine.
The Sabres then drafted another local product in the sixth round when they selected Center Sean Malone.
