Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer, the outstanding high school wrestler from Cheektowaga High, has signed a full scholarship with the Iowa Cyclones.

Rodriguez-Spencer won the 2013 New York State 132 lb. Div II Championship in March and won the Junior Division 138 lb. National High School Coaches Association tournament in Virginia in April. Rodriguez-Spencer has also placed in the top four of several national Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling tournaments over the Summer.

One of Renaldo’s claim to fame is the video of his championship victory over Alfred Bannister of Maryland in the closing seconds using the “Flying Squirrel” move. The video )below) went viral at the Allsportswny Youtube page and is currently over 955,000 views.
