EJ Manuel did not have a great second half against the Carolina Panthers. Yet in crunch time Manuel orchestrated a last minute 24-23 victory, throwing a winning TD toss to Stevie Johnson and Bills nation is celebrating. Manuel had two costly turnovers after tying the score at 14, but the Bills defense played inspired football when it counted and instead of a 0-2 start, the Buffalo Bills are 1-1 and feeling pretty good about themselves.

The Bills had a number of stars in this one besides Manuel starting with Mario Williams who had a franchise record 4 1/2 sacks. Williams played his best game yet in a Bills uniform and he had help.

Rookie linebacker Alonso Kiko had an interception, a sack and nine tackles to lead the way for the defense. The rookie showed a physical presence in the middle the Bills have missed as of late.

On offense CJ Spiller rushed for 103 yards, including a 46 yard carry and Fred Jackson added a TD and and a key reception on the last drive. Stevie Johnson also had 8 catches for a 111 yards to go along with his game winning catch.

The Bills had ill timed and foolish penalties for a second week to go along with the turnovers, but in Carolina they faced a team that has given up late leads for two seasons.

The Bills now go on the road and will face division rival New York Jets and all of Western New York will be looking for continued improvement and another step in the right direction.
