The Buffalo Sabres continued their winless ways, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Thomas Vanek had the lone goal for the Sabres while Marian Gaborik had a goal and two assists for gthe visiting Blue Jackets.
The Sabres are 0-4-1 and it’s the worst start for Buffalo since they went 0-5-2 to open the 1999-2000 season.
Ryan Miller was playing his first game since injuring his groin last Friday against the Ottawa Senators and he stopped 29 of 33 shots for the Sabres, who fell to 0-4-1 on the season. .
The Sabres will travel to Chicago to play the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night.
