The Bills acquired CB E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round pick from the Rams in exchange for Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick.
Minutes after the Watkins trade the team announced sending Darby to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick.
The Bills now have two 2018 first-rounders, two 2018 second-rounders and two 2018 third-rounders in next year’s NFL Draft.
Matthews is a former second-round pick (42nd overall) who has missed just two games over his three-year career. He has 225 catches for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns in his career. His best season came in 2015 when he had 85 catches for 997 yards and eight scores.
Gaines is more of a question mark, drafted in the sixth-round (188th overall) in 2014. He missed the entire 2015 season after he had surgery to repair a lisfranc injury in his foot. He has two interceptions in 26 games.
