The Buffalo Bills defense under coordinator Mike Pettine has shown a knack for turnovers and they made a statement with five picks of Superbowl MVP Joe Flacco in the 23-20 win over Baltimore. The defense set the offense up all day with great field position and by rights this one shouldn’t have been close.
Offensively the Bills ran the ball well and EJ Manuel played a strong first half, but they could only manage a field goal in the second. Baltimore was able to force numerous three and outs which allowed Flacc0 and the Ravens to get back in the game.
Injuries again became an issue for the Bills as CJ Spiller, Fred Jackson and Aaron Williams left the game at various points. Only Jackson finished the game for Buffalo.
Fred Jackson finished the game with 87 yards and a touchdown while Spiller ran for 77 in a limited performance. EJ Manuel was 10 of 22 for 167 yards and a TD and he threw two picks.
Now with a short week ahead the Bills prepare for the Cleveland Browns in a Thursday night nationally televised game which can be seen here in Buffalo on WBBZ-TV. The Bills have a chance to go a game over .500 against a Cleveland team that just upset Cincinnati17-6.
