In a move that surprises, the Buffalo Bills have released quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Last summer the Bills traded a seven round pick for Tarvaris Jackson from Seattle, but he never was activated for a game.
In February the Bills, under new coach Doug Marrone, handed him $500,000 to re-sign. They let Jackson split first-team reps with Kevin Kolb throughout the organized team activities period, but now they have sent Jackson packing.
Kolb and rookie EJ Manuel will now compete for the starting job, however the Bills are sure to bring another signal caller in to the fold.
