The Buffalo Bills have announced that they have released Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick was due to collect a three million dollar roster bonus on March 13th so the Bills needed to make the move or take the financial hit. With GM Buddy Nix admitting in a phone conversation with Buccaneer GM Mark Dominik that Fitz would not be a starter in 2013 and fighting for a backup job the die was cast.
The Bills reportedly tried to restructure a deal with Fitzpatrick, but in the end the QB was not agreeable to the terms. The Bills will now save $3 million in cash in 2013 against the cap and another $7 million in 2014 by cutting Fitzpatrick.
