Q: Welcome Back.
A: I am happy to be back.
Q: How big is it to be back and know you are here for seven more seasons?
A: It always feels good to be wanted. To know that the Buffalo Bills–they committed to me, like I have been committed to them. We are doing what we promised what we want to do with each other. I want to be a Buffalo Bill and they are making sure that I am going to be here. I am just so excited and happy to be here. Just so excited to be with these guys. Last week just really took a lot out of me not being here…just really excited to be back.
Q: How much did not being with the team take out of you?
A: It took enough out of me to know that, that I really need to take this…I am happy I turned my life around. I really just put the best foot forward. I know I am young and stuff happens, but at the same time I am just happy to know I am making the right decisions.
Q: How much was the contract and suspension weighing on your mind?
A: It didn’t weight on my mind at all. I wasn’t really focused on it, it wasn’t a focal point in my life. It just happened to come to a point.
Q: Did you buy anything or treat anyone with that new contract extension?
A: Not just yet. Magnify glass is on me, make sure, just kind of looking at me, but I am just really relaxing there is not really too much going on. I got everything else I need.
Q: You said you turned your life around what has changed?
A: It is just we are in the future now, I am not even thinking back that way. I am not even going to pull that back up.
Q: Looking ahead to the game how fun is it going to be to make your season debut against Brady and everyone?
A: I mean I am really excited to play against him. I like playing against Tom Brady and the Pats. We all really get up to play against them guys. Try to put some pressure on the quarterback. I am excited, happy to be back of course. Knowing Brady is going to be out there just gives it a little bit more fire and we are all just excited for it.
Q: Aaron Williams said he doesn’t like the Patriots?
A: I mean nobody likes the Patriots. Let’s be honest about it, put it out there.
Q: Are you glad Tom is playing?
A: I like playing against him, I like that competition. He is a good guy, he brings a lot to the game of course. I like playing against him. How Aaron feels, that’s how he feels.
Q: Are you more motivated to prove you are worth it?
A: I am going to do what I have to do regardless. I have been a man of my word since I have been here. I am going to try my best and whatever is going to happen, however we are going to do it I still am going to try my best and do put my best foot forward on any field I would step on. That is just me in general.
Q: Where did you watch the game on Sunday?
A: I watched it from the house.
Q: How big of a statement did this defense make?
A: Man, great. They played so well. They controlled the game, they had fun. I was talking to the guys afterwards it was a good game.
Q: How good does it feel to get to this point and have the contract settled?
A: Just feels like a weight has been lifted on my shoulders. The journey was so long, and so endearing but now it finally comes to a point where…it feels like the first time I can finally look back. I can really look back and be like, I really wish people where here to see this. It just really emotional and I was just thanking God, thanking so much. I just can’t believe he really put me in this position. It is just a lucky draw I guess.
Q: You are going to be part of this community a long time can you talk about the fans and how they have embraced you?
A: Oh man I talk about the fans every time I am in front of the camera. The fans are amazing. Playing at Alabama where we having amazing, great fans. This is the closest I could imagine it being. I love the fans here, I am a Buffalonian now. I got thick blood, I don’t get cold easy. I am a Buffalonian now.
Q: You can afford a nice coat if you do get cold now?
A: I think I can get a couple nice coats.

Q: Do you think you’ll have the respect of the New England Patriots?
A: I mean, you get respect all around the league, but at the end of the day you have to go out and play, execute, and that’s where its going to come down to, it’s coming down to executing and playing the game. You really can’t say anything about the rivalry, you have to go out there and play the game.
Q: A writer from the Boston Herald referred to Buffalo as the Pips in Gladys Knight. Thoughts?
A: You can really say anything about that. Like I said, we just have to go out there and play the game. We know they’ve been dominating this league and winning games and making it to the playoffs every year, but this is our year I think. We just have to go out there and play and have fun. We have great coaches, great players, great staff so, we’re just going to leave everything on the field and I cant wait for Sunday.
Q: Are you encouraged that some of the (defensive) attention will be on the other guys on your team?
A: Most definitely. It’s a long season and everybody is going to get their fair share of plays and great games. I think that’s what the situation was. We played great, and we won the game, and I had zero catches. And that’s the great thing about it. I didn’t contribute to the game and we still won, and it might be the same way next week. You never know what the outcome is going to be, but most of all I think we’ve got enough athletes to where I don’t have to touch the ball every play, or even touch the ball. As you see, we’ve got Charles Clay, Percy Harvin, (Robert) Woods, (Chris) Hogan and we’ve got a lot of guys that can make plays so it’s easy on me.
Q: Do you think other teams have more problems since you didn’t touch the ball once but still won?
A: Most definitely, they can see you can take me out of the game but you’re going to have to leave a number of guys one-on-one, which, that creates a different matchup. If you’re going to double me the whole game, why not run the ball to the right side, why not throw the ball to the right side the whole game and pick on the other guys who are matching up with Clay or Woods or Percy Harvin and that’s the strength to our offense. If you’re going to double me the whole game, we’re going to win. We’re going to win the game most definitely because we can pick on the other guys on the other side of the field.

Q: Does the next task seem even more daunting?
A: I mean, you’re going against Super Bowl champs so it’s another great test for us. But, just like last week, I feel very confident in us and coaches game plan, I feel like we’ll be all right.
Q: Did you say Andrew Luck was just another quarterback?
A: Let me clarify that. That’s not what I said. I said he’s another good NFL quarterback that we’re facing. We face a lot of good quarterbacks, especially last year. Going against Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning. I never once said Andrew Luck was just another quarterback so I just want to clarify that. But Tom Brady, a Hall of Famer, we have to be on our cues this week, we can’t have any mistakes. The slightest mistake will hurt us so, this week is about perfection.
Q: How do you feel about your non-verbal communication and with the noise levels during games?
A: We want fans to be as loud as possible. It may seem like it’s hurting us a little bit but, we’ll adjust. We want those fans to be really into the game because, believe it or not, they are a difference maker in a game. As far as disrupting the quarterbacks play call or his fake counts or whatever it is that they do, we try to catch up on that so, whenever it seems like we’re out on a struggle, it may be that one play, but we’ll get it adjusted play afterwards.
Q: Does it ever get personal for you against a team like the patriots?
A: I don’t like New England so yeah, it’s definitely personal for me. Me saying that may ruin a lot of stories, but that’s just the way I feel personally. They’re a great football team, don’t get that twisted at all. They wouldn’t be four-time NFL champs for no reason. You have a Hall-of-Fame quarterback with a really great TE of Rob (Gronkowski) and then you have (Julian) Edelman. He’s been doing his thing too, so don’t sleep on him at all. They have a lot of guys that we need to take care of but we have a lot of guys that can take care of that.

Q: With all the success last week, does it feel good to get Marcell back this week?
A: Yeah. It is always great to have a really good player back with you. He helps us even more. And we are excited to have him back, couldn’t come at a better time.
Q: How much did the performance against Andrew Luck do for the belief in this locker room?
A: I don’t think it did much. I think we expected to perform that way from how we practiced during the week. We had a good command of what are our blue print, our game plan was. And we went out and executed it. I think we came out just as confident as we were going in. But we put in a lot of work and we have to match the kind of work we put in last week to get ready again.
Q: Do you think you surprised the rest of the league the way you handled Andrew Luck?
A: I don’t know. I can’t really speak for anybody that is around the league. I think we have had good games in the past where we have shown we can shut teams down, that we can play good defense. But it is going to be a week to week deal. We can’t lean on what we did this week, headed into…what we did last week headed into this week. So we have a whole different game plan going in. We have a whole different challenge to prepare for. We have to continue to stack up good performances because that is what is going to help us win.
Q: Brady is going to be playing after all?
A: All the offseason stuff. You know really when all that was going on, if you are sitting here like he is going to be out and he may be out, he may be in. If that is the way you are looking at it you are probably not doing everything you could be doing to get ready for the season and don’t worrying about that. We obviously had a huge test in front of us with Andrew Luck and that team before we got to this point. So am I shocked that he is playing, no. Would I be shocked if he wasn’t playing, no I don’t guess. I really don’t pay much attention to that stuff. I just kind of put my nose down and prepare week in and week out. He is there once again, he has them playing well. They are coming to Buffalo and we have to be ready to go.
