Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer, the exciting wrestler from Cheektowaga High School, not only won the junior division 138 lb. National High School Coaches Association tournament, he did it with style. Trailing 3-2 with just seconds remaining, Rodriguez-Spencer took down Alfred Bannister of Maryland with what is known as a “flying squirrel” takedown. Video below:
The victory over Bannister, ranked 5th nationally at the weight class, earned Renaldo the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award in the Junior Division.
