Kellen Devlin, a Junior from Amherst, won his second consecutive New York State Div II high school wrestling championship Saturday in Albany. Devlin won by 18-2 technical decision over Jake Kurzhals of Pearl River in Section Eleven. Devlin was the top seed in the weight class and his closest match of the tournament was a 8-1 victory over Nick Gaiser in the sem-finals.
Other finalists for Section Six were senior Cody McGregor of Tonawanda, who dropped a hard fought 2-1 decision to Nick Casella of Section Eight in the Div II 132 lb title match.
Senior Andrew Shomers of Lew-Port lost 5-1 in the 152 lb finals to Frank Garcia of Norwich. Garcia was the returning 152 lb Div II champion whole Shomers was the Div II 145 lb finalist last season.
Senior Nate Schwabs of Clarence also dropped a 5-1 decision in the Div I 170 lb title match to Kevin Parker of Shenendehowa from the Albany area.
The final Section Six representative was senior Tyler Hall from East Aurora who breezed his way to the Div II 220 lb finals with pins and technical decisions, but Elijah Sampo from Canastota had different plans pinning a fatigued Hall at 3:53 of the bout.

3rd Place – Anthony Orefice of Lockport, 126 lbs
5th Place – Richie Jones of St. Joseph`s Collegiate Inst., 182 lbs
6th Place – Ryan Schlager of Clarence, 182 lbs
5th Place – Jake Braunscheidel of Saint Francis, 195 lbs

6th Place – Brad Bihler of Maple Grove, 126 lbs
4th Place – Dakota Gardner of Fredonia, 152 lbs
4th Place – Brian Westerdahl of Maple Grove, 160 lbs
6th Place – Howie Nolan of Maple Grove, 170 lbs
6th Place – Jake Kubala of Newfane, 182 lbs
4th Place – Nick Jones of Dunkirk, 285 lbs.
