HOLLAND, NY… This coming Saturday will be Midseason Championships for all divisions on the highbanks. The United States Air Force will be presented a full NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program plus make-up features for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency Pro Modifieds and the McClurg Auto Group Late Models. Also on the card will be the Bank of Holland Chargers, M&M U-Pull It Figure 8’s, NYPAMA TQ Midgets, the 4 Cylinder Hornets and a scheduled appearance by the Cup Lites.
In the first Pro Modified feature of the evening, the winner of the event will be guaranteed a top 12 starting spot for the Sportsman 100 on Friday July 19th as part of the 63rd Race of Champions Weekend at the Oswego Speedway.
Being displayed along the concourse area will be the Air Force Rapid Strike and Project Supercar will be on hand. The Rapid Strike is a unique simulator ride experience that immerses visitors in the high-tech world of the Air Force. Fans will have the opportunity to board the simulator and lets them experience a real Air Force mission including a F-22 flight, C-17 cargo drop, CCT ground surveillance, satellite communications, Reaper missile strike from a first person point-of-view. Along the way, they will discover the many roles the Air Force plays in today’s military as well as several of the career opportunities they can pursue.
The Project Supercar is a combination of seven highly specialized Airmen with a world-renowned team of car mechanics and customizers from Galpin Auto Sports. Admission prices are $12 for adults, Students (ages 8-15) are $7 and ages 7 & under are always FREE! Our Family Pass which for just $25, two adults and all children 15 and under living in the same household can enjoy the night at the races.
Pit gates will open at 3:30pm with front gates opening at 4:45 and qualifying will get underway at 5:00pm. NASCAR Racing will begin promptly at 7:05pm.
Last Saturday, the Race of Champions Modified Tour returned to the highbanks for the Holland Hills 100 sponored by Emerling Chevrolet and it was second generation driver Matt Hirschman from Northampton, Pennsylvania getting credit for his second straight win in the Holland hills after Pete Brittain was found illegal after post-race tech. Dave Wilson Jr was victorious in the Chargers and Ben Russo picked up the Hornets victory.
