When it comes time to sit down and watch Super Bowl XLVIII my wallet will be cheering for Seattle and my heart will be pulling for Peyton Manning and the Broncos. What?
I’m not much of a gambler, but in December my son asked me to be part of a friendly football “pool” where you pick in advance the winner of all the BCS Bowl games and then all the NFL playoff games up to the Super Bowl. Make a long story short I can finish in the money if Seattle wins, but not Denver. Go Seahawks, I think.
I picked Seattle as the eventual Super Bowl Champs because they had home field in the NFC. I picked the Patriots to advance in the AFC because the Broncos did not finish the regular season well. However, now that Denver is there I would rather see Peyton Manning get another ring than, even if it costs me a few bucks.
I like the way Denver matches up with Seattle on the field. Seattle’s strength on offense is their running game but stopping the run is what Denver does best.
Seattle has a strong Defense and a good secondary, but Denver of course has Peyton.
Watching the Super Bowl is always about hoping for a good game. So with the match-up of Seattle and Denver we should have a great one.
I’ll take the Broncos 31-28 in a game I win either way.
