The Buffalo Bills have fans wondering which direction they will go come draft day on the 25th. Will the Bills draft a quarterback with the 8th pick in the draft or will they rely of the standard “best player available” strategy?
The Bills have attended private workouts for several QB’s and most noticeably West Virginia’s Geno Smith. Smith has been touted as the number one QB in the draft by so-called experts, but new Bills Coach Doug Marrone has faced him several times and came away a winner twice in 2012, so that would temper his enthusiasm.
With only Tarvaris Jackson on the roster with serious NFL experience the Bills must bring at least two new quarterbacks to camp and speculation is both may come from the draft. One of those may very well be Ryan Nassib from Syracuse who played for Marrone and Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Nassib could end up in a Bills uniform, but most feel he’s not ready to be the starter.
One thing is certain, Russ Brandon understands that whoever plays quarterback for this team will go a long way in determing if the hire of Doug Marrone was the right one. Not to mention what it will say about the first season under Brandon himself.
