Unfinished Dreams
In 1970 the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team had the greatest season in the history of the “Little Three”. Led by All-American senior big man Bob Lanier, the Bonnies finished the regular season ranked 3rd in the nation with a 25-3 record. In the NCAA tournament Bonaventure easily defeated Davidson and North Carolina State to advance to the Eastern Regional against Villanova. Bonaventure crushed ‘Nova’ 97-74 in that contest, but lost Lanier for the remainder of the tournament with a knee injury. Bona then went on to the Final Four without their team leader, but still played inspired basketball against Jacksonville in the semi-final game dropping a 91-83 decision.
“Unfinished Dreams” is a documentary produced by Rigas Entertainment which aired on the Empire Sports Network. The production chronicles the exploits of this great team and the support they received from their University and the town of Olean, New York.
